Add photos, videos, audio & documents

A simple checklist for group admins. No coding required — choose a folder, copy your file, run one command, reload the page.

Core rule: Put the file in the right folder. The file name can be anything. LifeLoveMe will find supported files automatically.

Five steps (every upload)

Choose the community group (example below: Roorkee 1978 Electrical).
Choose the type of file — photo, video, audio, PDF, book, poem, song, or member creation.
Copy the file into the matching folder on your Mac (Finder or cloud folder).
Run the gallery manifest builder (one command — see below).
Reload the community page in your browser to see the new item.

Replace roorkee-1978-electrical with your group id for other communities.

Empty folders are hidden on the page.

Images: jpg, jpeg, png, webp
Audio: mp3, m4a
Video: mp4, mov
Documents: pdf

Step 4 — build the gallery index

Run this from the LifeLoveMe project folder on your Mac (Terminal):

python3 scripts/build_community_gallery_manifest.py roorkee-1978-electrical

To refresh every community at once: python3 scripts/build_community_gallery_manifest.py --all

Step 5 — reload the community page

http://localhost:8770/communities/roorkee-1978-electrical/index.html

Use your local port if different (8780, 8770, etc.). After deploy, use your preview or live community URL instead.

Member roster (Excel → page)

Put the member spreadsheet here:

Then run:

python3 scripts/convert_community_members_xlsx.py \
  --group roorkee-1978-electrical \
  --input web/data/communities/roorkee-1978-electrical/source/members.xlsx \
  --output web/data/communities/roorkee-1978-electrical/members.json

Reload the community page to see updated member counts and location Ask answers.

Privacy reminder

Do not publish private phone, email, date of birth, or spouse details unless explicitly approved.
Full date of birth and marriage anniversary are for internal birthday / MA queries only — not for public display.
Keep the public roster safe: name, city, and active status are shown on the group page.

Coming later

This guide will become a real upload form: choose group, category, file, title, and caption — then submit for admin review. For now, folder copy + one command is the supported workflow.
